Basic nutritional guidelines for maintaining healthy teeth.

Products useful for teeth:

- nuts (not to be confused with nuts for beer) - almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts;
- apples;
- carrot;
- sesame;
- greens (fresh parsley and dill);
- fresh vegetables - tomatoes, bell peppers;
- hard cheeses.

Products harmful to teeth:

- lollipops and gummies;
- bananas;
- rich pastries;
- lemons and lemon water;
- Coca-Cola and all carbonated drinks;
- juices;
- nuts for beer;
- chicken cartilage, bones.

Tooth decay and gum disease occurs most often from germs. But it is not the microbes themselves that are harmful, but the acid they produce. Therefore, it is important to reduce the number of these microbes and neutralize the acid.

Healthy foods:
- Nuts - neutralize acid.
- Apples, carrots, greens, fresh vegetables have a tough consistency and naturally well clean teeth from food debris and plaque (breeding ground for microbes).
- Sesame seeds and hard cheeses also neutralize acid, but they are also a source of calcium for teeth.
Products harmful to teeth:
- Lollipops and gummies, banana, soft white flour buns - stick well to teeth, stay on the enamel surface for a long time, being very tasty food for microbes. All conditions for breeding.
- Lemons and water with lemon, Coca-Cola, carbonated drinks, juices - external sources of acids that corrode enamel. One of the reasons for increased sensitivity of teeth and cervical defects.
- Nuts for beer, chicken cartilage - often split teeth in half.

And the logical question is - what to do?

After "harmful" foods, you need to eat a piece of "healthy". For example, after a stuck banana, eat a cleansing apple, and after a sour lemon, eat a neutralizing nut or a slice of cheese.

What about bananas and lemons, which are good for the body, but not for the teeth?

Banana is a quick and tasty snack. But it adheres well to teeth, contains a lot of sugar and is an excellent breeding ground for microbes. The same goes for buns / muffins.
And after use, it would be good to brush off the adhering residues from the teeth with a toothbrush. But not everyone has the opportunity to brush their teeth after every meal.
Therefore, for a snack, along with a banana / bun, you can take an apple or carrot. And eat them after. These products cleanse your teeth well in a natural way.
Lemons and water with lemon juice. They are very useful for the body. But the acid contained in them destroys the tissues of the teeth, dissolving minerals (if the scale in the kettle dissolves citric acid, you can imagine what happens to the enamel of the teeth).

DO NOT brush your teeth after eating lemons !!! To slightly reduce the harmful effects of the acid, it is necessary to neutralize it.
The simplest thing is to eat the lemon peel and rinse your mouth with clean water. But it's better to eat a nut or a piece of hard cheese. You can also rinse your mouth with a mild baking soda solution.
