Dystopic tooth - causes, symptoms, diagnosis

Looking at the pages of glossy magazines, you never get tired of being amazed at the beauty of smiles of show business stars and other famous people. And the question involuntarily arises as to why nature gave someone a perfect smile, while someone is forced to hide their teeth behind tightly clenched teeth? Are all our stars naturally endowed with perfectly straight and crystal white teeth? Not at all. Most likely, the vast majority of them simply resorted to the help of dental professionals. Probably not a single person can boast of perfectly straight teeth.

Surely each of us has some kind of defect in the dentition. It's just that in someone they are more noticeable and conspicuous, while someone skillfully hides them. Some time ago, a person, if he had any anomaly of the dentition, was forced to cover his wide smile with his palm, because correcting teeth at that time, if possible, was a rather painful procedure. Fortunately, today the situation has taken on a radically different character. Various malocclusions today can be corrected both in childhood and adulthood, using the most optimal devices for each individual case.

Malocclusion today is a fairly common problem for the vast majority of people. These violations are due to various factors, and sometimes their combination. The main reason for the development of dentition anomalies is malnutrition. That is, in some cases, when a person prefers to eat only soft foods, the load on the jaw muscles may be insufficient, which ultimately can lead to atrophy of dental tissues. This means that the atrophied tissue will no longer be able to keep the teeth in the correct position. You should be concerned if:

- the baby has excessive attachment to the nipple

- at a later age, it is worth paying attention to the bad habits of children, for example, the child's habit of gnawing on a pencil or pen in the classroom is dangerous

- a genetic predisposition has a great influence on the development of anomalies of the dentition. That is, if one of the parents has any violation of the dentition, then, most likely, the child will have the same problems.

- predisposition to loss of teeth. Correction of teeth may be required in the absence of even one tooth in the dentition. This can cause the remaining teeth to move.

It will be quite difficult for a non-specialist to recognize a violation of the structure of the dentition at its very first stages. To do this, you must have certain knowledge in the field of the structure of the dentition. In human terms, malocclusion occurs due to the fact that excessive pressure is applied to the root of the tooth. The root system is structured as follows: the root is fixed in the jaw hole with very thin elastic fibers, and if the impact on one side of the hole is stronger than on the other, then the root will shift towards the least mechanical impact. It is surprising that modern dentists correct teeth using a mechanism that destroys the teeth.

Currently, there is a large selection of systems, the use of which corrects the dentition. The most famous is the bracket system. Known, but far from the only one. Now so-called trainers are also widely used, which are plates made of the finest silicone. They are very convenient to use, because they are used for only a few hours a day, mainly at night. Trainers always maintain their shape, while exerting as much pressure on the teeth as is necessary to correct the bite. The use of trainers implies a redistribution of the load on the jaw muscles. The advantage of such plates is that after their application, the risk of recurrent pathologies is zero.

There are people who seriously believe that teeth correction is possible only in childhood or adolescence. This is not true. It is possible to correct malocclusion at any age. It is only worth considering that age influences the choice of the method by which dentition anomalies will be corrected. For example, if we are talking about a child aged five years, then for him the most effective means of correcting a bite will be the use of trainers. Such plates will redistribute the load on the jaw muscles, thus forming not only the correct bite, but also the correct breathing of the child. Modern trainers are made of a silicone that, when in contact with tissues, will not cause discomfort and irritation. If violations need to be corrected in a school-age child, then braces are best suited, which will help get rid of the anomalies of the already formed bite.
