Recommendations after filling

Recommendations after filling in.

1. If anesthesia was used during the treatment, wait until it stops working before eating, as you may accidentally bite your cheek or lip. It is allowed to drink water, yogurt, liquid soups.

2. Within 3-5 days, irritation, inflammation, bleeding and pain in the adjacent gum may occur, which will gradually pass.

3. After filling, there may be an increased spontaneous sensitivity, especially to cold and from bites, which usually passes quickly.

4. If this sensitivity does not go away for 1 month, or increases, or there is pain, then you need to consult a doctor.

5. If after the end of anesthesia there is a feeling of excessive filling or discomfort when chewing, it is necessary to come to the examination as early as possible.

6. If the filling was performed on a previously depulpated tooth (with a nerve removed), it should be borne in mind that such a tooth is fragile and must be restored using an orthopedic structure (crown, inlay, overlay, etc.). In case of refusal to restore the tooth with an orthopedic structure, the patient assumes responsibility for all possible risks and complications: split tooth, loss of the filling, and others that may lead to tooth removal and subsequent prosthetics/implantation.

7. The color and shape of the restoration may differ slightly from their tooth tissues.

8. Come for routine checkups and hygiene measures every 6 months.

Important! Keep in mind that:

- significant temperature changes (for example, the use of hot coffee with ice cream) change the technical characteristics of the composite material and can cause changes in the adhesion (fit, cracking) of the seal;

- to prevent cracks in the filling and tooth, avoid biting hard objects (dried fruits, crackers, nuts, refined sugar, caramel, cartilage, hard meat, coarse salt, etc.).);

- dental plaque, insufficient hygiene can cause discoloration of the filling, the appearance of pigmentation at the border of the composite material, recurrent caries, loss of obturation, inflammation and bleeding of the gums;

- the use of products containing coloring substances (for example, coffee, tea, red wine, chocolate, beets, etc.), can provoke a change in the color of the filling;

- incorrect bite worsens the conditions of fixation (adhesion) of the composite material in the tooth;

- restorations on the cutting edges of the incisors or on the tubercles of the molars and premolars can often break or crack.
