A reminder to the patient after sinus lifting

IT IS FORBIDDEN for 2 hours:

- take food; 

IT is FORBIDDEN for 2 days:

- rinse;

- drink through a straw;

- spit it out;

- smoking;

- take hot/hard food;

- take a hot bath, go to the sauna;

- perform heavy physical activities, be in a head-down position;

- to warm the place of surgery / place of tooth extraction;

- sleep on the side where the operation was performed.

 

necessary:

- take the recommended painkillers for pain;

- take all prescribed medications;

- during the first 3 hours after surgery, keep a cold compress on the skin of the face in the postoperative area. Keep for 20 minutes, with breaks of 10 minutes.

- the next day after surgery, brush your teeth, and then hold a chlorhexidine-based solution in your mouth 2 times a day for 30 seconds.

IMPORTANT AFTER SINUS LIFTING

After the procedure, 2 weeks are prohibited: traveling by plane, diving, going to the gym, playing sports, lifting heavy objects, upside down, sneezing, blowing your nose, visiting the sauna, taking hot baths, spa, swimming pool.

It is necessary to sleep with your mouth open and in a face-up position.

It is necessary to take prescribed medications and follow the recommendations.

It is necessary to observe oral hygiene at home, to attend preventive appointments every 6 months or at the time specified by the doctor.

Smoking interferes with wound healing processes, and can cause rejection of osteoplastic material, lead to a negative result of surgery and further aggravate the initial clinical situation. Therefore, it is necessary to give up smoking.

 Postoperative conditions that are the norm:

- isolation of a small amount of blood for 2 days;

- difficulty opening the mouth, feeling of tension, nasal congestion;

- swelling, bruises (hematomas);

- loss of sensitivity in the area of surgery is a temporary phenomenon, which, however, may require a long recovery period;

- an increase in body temperature.

 Postoperative conditions that are not normal and require medical attention: 

- increased pain after 24 hours; or continued severe pain for more than 3 days;

- the release of bright scarlet blood in large quantities;

- loss of one or more stitches;

- increase or retention of edema for more than 3 days;

- an increase in body temperature of more than 38.4 for more than 24 hours;

- difficulty opening the mouth for more than a week;

- the appearance of mobility of adjacent teeth.
