What are the advantages of the Philips Zoom system for home teeth whitening?
The primary advantage of the Philips Zoom system is that the whitening gel features an innovative, patented formula containing Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP). This is a form of calcium that penetrates the tooth structure, thereby strengthening the enamel and enhancing its shine. The gel also contains Potassium Nitrate, a substance that reduces sensitivity.
Most often, the home whitening system is used to enhance and maintain the results after a clinical Zoom White Speed whitening session, but it can also be used as a standalone, gentle whitening treatment at home.
How does the home whitening procedure work?
After an oral examination, consultation, and discussion, the doctor selects the most suitable teeth whitening method. If the home-use system is chosen, the doctor takes dental impressions to create custom-made trays that fit snugly against the teeth and perfectly replicate their contour.
At home, the patient independently applies the gel into these trays and wears them on their teeth according to the schedule provided by the doctor. These trays allow the whitening gel to remain in contact with the teeth without being washed away by saliva, ensuring both safety and effectiveness.
Before the whitening procedure, it is necessary to undergo professional hygiene cleaning, treat any cavities, pulpitis, and address gum diseases.
What options exist for professional at-home teeth whitening?
Our clinic offers 2 types of home whitening:
Philips Zoom Day White Home Whitening.
This whitening method involves wearing the tray with the whitening agent twice a day for 30-90 minutes over a period of 2 weeks. It is an ideal solution for those who do not wish to wear the tray overnight.
The main active component in the whitening gel is 6% or 9.5% Hydrogen Peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is effective over a short period and is best suited for patients who require shorter application times.
Philips Zoom Night White Home Whitening.
This whitening method involves wearing the tray with the whitening agent for a minimum of 6 hours (overnight) over 1-2 weeks. It is an ideal solution for those who communicate frequently during the day and prefer not to wear the tray then.
The main active component in the whitening gel is 16% Carbamide Peroxide.
Carbamide Peroxide is hydrogen peroxide mixed with urea, which enhances the effectiveness of the peroxide over an extended period. Therefore, this formula is suitable for longer application times (overnight).
Important! If tooth sensitivity occurs after several applications, the patient can take a break from whitening after consulting with their dentist.
Contraindications for using home whitening.
We do not perform whitening if you have:
Individual intolerance to the components of the whitening gel.
Tooth decay on the teeth to be whitened (they must be treated before the procedure).
Untreated gum disease.
Mental disorders.
Malignant tumors.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Age under 16 years.

Teeth that are severely damaged, where the only way to achieve a whiter smile is through the fabrication of veneers or crowns.
